Singapore: Chinese photovoltaic (PV) firm Trina Solar will supply PV solar modules to Rizal Green Energy for its renewable energy projects in the Philippines, the companies said on Thursday.

The Chinese supplier inked a sales agreement with the subsidiary of renewable energy developer PetroGreen Energy to supply 117 megawatt (MW) of PV solar modules for various projects in the Philippines, according to a joint statement.

Trina Solar previously supplied 27 MW of modules to PetroGreen's Dagohoy solar PV project in Bohol, Philippines, due to be completed this year.

"This cooperation will significantly boost Philippine's energy transition to renewable energy through solar power projects and will contribute to achieving a low-carbon future," said Maria Victoria M. Olivar, PetroGreen's senior vice president for commercial operations and business development.

Trina Solar and PetroGreen Energy said they are exploring future partnerships in other areas such as solar trackers and battery energy storage systems.
